Happy Tax Day - Did You Remember To Claim Your Medical Expenses?
It’s April 15 and accountants and taxpayers across America are either breathing a sigh of relief or scrambling to help their clients or themselves get to the post office with their completed income tax forms by midnight tonight.
I am guessing that if you are like me, and Mother Nature is not the only person you have asked for assistance in your attempts to have a baby, you probably had some out of pocket medical expenses in 2007. Don’t forget that if those expenses, which can include things like transportation to and from your doctor or RE or acupuncture or prescriptions, are over 7% of your taxable income, you can claim them as deductibles on your income tax. Just be careful not to “double dip” and use fertility expenses you plan to be reimbursed for from your FSA (flexible spending account).
While it was hard to swallow looking over our receipts and invoices from 2007, our tax return made those expenses a little more palatable. Just a little.
