Got Any Herb? For Your Tampons??

by Gabrielle on March 18th, 2008

photo credit: G. Sedor, www.usa-c2c.comThis subject came up on one of the fertility forums that I read religiously - herbal tampons.

Huh?

A member of the group was asking us if we had ever heard of herbal tampons to treat blocked fallopian tubes. The answer was a collective no. But gosh, I got curious. Here’s what I found:

www.felopio.com - this website advertises an herbal treatment known for its’ ability to effectively remove blockages from the fallopian tubes to greatly improve the female reproductive health. It is mostly sought after by women suffering from blocked fallopian tubes, but also recommended, in smaller prophylactic packages, for any woman wishing to keep her reproductive health and prevent any future problems conceiving.

And here’s another website that offers info on natural methods to unblock fallopian tubes, but you need to enter your name and email address and sign up for alerts before they give up the goods.

Further searches reveal that inserting herbal-type substances in your vagina isn’t new news. Check out this Q&A from 1908. And if you trust a guy named Ed with your cooch, you can use Herbal Ed’s Salve as an intravaginal insert.

When I think of herbal tampons, I am filled with visions (and sensations) of Vick’s VapoRub in a place that I really don’t want that mentholated feeling. What are your thoughts?

    That’s what I think, too.

BTW, readers, whomever added “herbs are for pickling” to the poll options just made me spit up my soy milk.

For a split second, I have to admit the I’ll try anything crossed my mind.

And then I started to itch, thinking of having a poison ivy like rash down there. LOL I think this is one option I’d pass on.

The pickling comment is just priceless!

I’ve been very fortunate *knock-knock* to not have any issues in the womb area, but pretty much I’ll try it - especially if someone told me it was like, the bomb. Although come to think of it, I’m reminded of my *first time* where I was certain that just having a penis near my cootch would cause me to get pregnant. Hence, in addition to being on the pill and using a condom I popped in some sort of spermicidal goodness and my cooter was fizzing like warm Coke dropped on the floor. Hmmmm… I’ll need to think a little more on that one.

My tubes were diagnosed blocked last month and only a couple of months before that I have been trying herbs to loosen them up. I am aware that this kind of stuff takes time. In this case if the herbs have a way of being introduced directly to the herbs than I would not mind trying it to get a heads up. Don’t knock anything until you try them.

I recently found out that I have a blocked tube after doing a HSG. And was told basically that surgery has no guarantees or could actually cause more scarring. So, the idea of a possible NATURAL solution seems the best option, if it really works.
I would try it if my doctor found it to be safe and recommends using it.
