Infertility Amendment Withdrawn in Committee

by Gabrielle on February 12th, 2008

An amendment to Pennsylvania’s insurance law that would have required Pennsylvania health insurance policies to provide coverage for the treatment of infertility was withdrawn during the House Insurance Committee this morning.

What does that mean?

Not sure. That’s why I’m meeting with Representative Josh Shapiro, the author of the amendment Thursday morning. It could have been pulled back to be rewritten, revised, a number of things. I’m hoping to have some good information (and perhaps an interview?) to share later this week. Stay tuned…

Thursday UPDATE: The legislative session is canceled today. I’ll be meeting with Representative Shapiro when he’s back in town next week.

You are like a one-woman lobbying firm! :)

:) Just tell me if I get too nerdy. I love this stuff, but I know its an absolute snooze fest for others.

You’ll tell me if I venture into nerd-dom, right?

Well, I would, but I’m a nerd, too… so perhaps we need a third opinion!

Melis, I happen to think he’s handsome (as far as legislators go). Not sure about the single; I’ll keep my eyes open on Thursday….

Lucy, no problem. The latest is that the amendment was withdrawn before it went for a vote in committee. I’m guessing because someone in the committee asked for more info. Hopefully I’ll have more to report Thursday evening. I checked out your blog. Wishing you the best of luck!
